Soey Milk

Wonderful range of work from young Pasadena-based artist "Soey Milk." While she seems to be especially praised for her delicate and precise oil paintings, her sketchbook and pencil works have no less distinction and technical mastery. Her pieces are unassuming and romantic, yet always hint at the macabre and mystical under the surface. There also seems to be a deep importance to the almost totemic items her women carry - they are dual symbols of pleasure and pain, and represent both her subjects deeply rooted solitude and their exuding and inviting femininity. You can see more of Soey Milk's work - both her small oil paintings and her moleskine studies - on her blog here, as well as take a look at her new series of erotic space girls called "UYU" here.
