Taylor McKimens

Taylor McKimens work is absolutely gross in the most delicious way possible. Everything is in a constant state of decay, dripping, and melting into each other. You can almost smell the sweat off of the well cross-contoured lumpy human flesh. His non idealization of the human form is intensely enjoyable (check out the rolls on those arm pits!)

Even his use of color is bizarre. Separately each color could be compared to candy, but the way they all work together makes my stomach churn and my heart sing. He was the first and last painter introduced to me in school to make me feel at home. His universe is filled with decay and a myriad of social rejects. The characters and linework reminiscent of graphic novels (Charles Burns and Daniel Clowes come to mind). What's not to love?
